Lancaster aircraft DV 194 was shot up by an enemy fighter aircraft, exploded in mid-air and crashed four miles north of Villingen, at Ober Eschach, Germany during a night trip to Stuttgart, Germany. Three RAF members of the crew and one other member of the crew, not Canadian, were also killed. Two of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. Cenotaph at Springford Community Cemetery, Springford, Oxford County Municipality, Ontario, Canada.
